She'll defy his every expectation.
She’s Penna Carstairs. The Renegade they call Rebel. FMX-treme Magazine’s sexiest female athlete of the year. There’s no rule in extreme sports she hasn’t broken,No gender barrier she hasn’t demolished.
She’s the woman I met in a bar in Vegas. The woman I illegally BASE jumped for.The woman I spent one insane, incredible night with. But now I’m screwed.Or rather…not screwed.
Because the woman I can’t get out of my head is the one woman I can never touch again.I’m Dr. Cruz Delgado—the youngest professor on this campus,And Penelope Carstairs just walked into my class.

Wil’s Review:

5 Big Cruz and Penna are everything stars!!!

“I have one night, just a few minutes in this eternity of ours, to try to understand you.”

Once again Rebecca Yarros has made me fall in love with one of her stories! This was amazing, absolutely fantastic and so so hot!!! Rebecca owns my soul. I’m not sure how she’s able to create the swooniest heroes time after time but she totally does. So people, you need to read this, because you need to meet your new favorite book boyfriend “Cruz Delgado” aka Doctor Delicious, aka my husband’s cousin, lol!

““God, I love this feeling,” she whispered, as if she hadn’t meant to say the thought aloud. “The rush?” I guessed. “The anticipation. The war that silently rages in my body between what I want it to do and what it knows isn’t safe. The way my stomach tightens and my heart starts to race. The moment the decision is still mine.” I knew the exact moment she was describing because I’d lived it—I was in it now. It was the moment you stood on the edge of epic and decided to topple over.”

To me, he made the book. He was just amazing. His background, his dedication, his hotness, his love for Penna. Ahhh swoons!

“You are a headstrong, independent, stubborn woman surrounded by a sea of boys, when what you crave—what you need—is a man. One who isn’t going to hold you back but isn’t afraid of you, either. One who knows the delicate balance between watching you fly and protecting you so you don’t fall. Hell, I’m not sure any of those boys would even know what to do with you if you ever let them get their hands on you.”

See? See? F-ing Hotttt!!!!

So let’s talk Penna. if you’ve read the other books in the series you know what Penna has been through (if you haven’t, what are you waiting for!!!). Penna is a little lost and trying to find her way after the events in Wilder and Nova. And she’s struggling hard, with who she is, who she was and how she’s perceived by the world. She’s a Renegade to the core, but she’s also such a sensitive soul. I loved her, everything about her. Definitely my favorite heroine of Rebecca’s (sorry Sam!).

“For the last three months, I’d felt like plain ol’ Penna, and no matter what I did, I couldn’t rouse Rebel, couldn’t get her to stand up and take notice that I was withering away.”

As the blurb states, Penna and Cruz met in Vegas and shared an “experience”, let’s call it that.

“She stared up at me, every inch of her body language screaming that she didn’t care what I did. She was going to do whatever she wanted. But her eyes told a different story. There was something damaged there, a desperate plea that tapped into my soul in a way I’d thought I was immune to. Man, was I wrong. She wasn’t a damsel. She was in distress, but she wasn’t going to say a word about it, and that set off every alarm bell in my brain and engaged that sense of chivalry Grandma had busted her ass to instill in me.”

Little do they know that they’re about to become student and teacher. And you know how much I love that trope! High stakes, lots of pressure, lots of sneaking out and the angst!!! Of the charts!!!!

“What if I never felt this kind of connection with anyone else? What if he was the one guy I was capable of feeling something with? What if I was about to miss out on something that was truly once-in-a-lifetime because I was ironically scared to jump?”

“This was a high worth chasing. He was a risk worth taking.”

“This was dangerous. We both knew it, and yet here we were again. Magnets. Gravity. Chemical reactions. Whatever.”

So overall, this book has everything I love:

-Sports: check
-Forbidden: check
-Romance: check
-Angst: check
-Sexy Times: check
-Hot AF Swoony Hero: check
-Strong Kickass Heroine: check

Hands down this is my favorite book this series and a favorite this year. I guarantee it will keep you hooked from beginning to end.

“I don’t do this. I don’t chase boys. I don’t make out with boys. I don’t risk my reputation for a guy, or for some fling, and I sure as hell don’t open myself up for rejection. I’m not a normal girl, and I know that. But I think that you’re the only man strong enough to handle every facet of the woman I am. You’re everything I want, everything I need, and I just want the chance to be what you need, too.”

As I’ve stated before, Rebecca Yarros’ writing is so beautiful, and so real. There’s no way you can read one of her books and not by affected by the writing. Rebecca is one of the reasons our blog exists today. We’re huge fans. There are a couple of authors we support and swear by wholeheartedly, and she’s one of them. This is one of those books we want people to know about, we want everyone to just read!

“So, you and me?” I asked softly. “You and me,” he agreed, taking my lips in a deep, soul-reaching kiss. “It’s not going to be easy.” “Nothing worth it ever is.”

Needless to say, Rebel is 100% Sisterhood approved! This book is all the feels, all of them! Everything you need in a great story from beginning to end. I can’t stop grinning when I think about it. And the epilogue, absolute perfection! We can’t wait for what Rebecca will bring us next!!!

“You challenge every belief I’ve ever held about relationships, and I have a feeling you’ll keep that up, which I am more than fine with. I’m not an easy man, and you’re anything but an easy woman, but together we are effortless, because I can’t imagine any other possibility.”

Quinn’s Review:

What a ride. I’m seriously going to miss these guys. DAMN YOU Yarros!!! You’ve created this addiction and now I need rehab.

This series is just absolutely phenomenal. All I want to do is walk around passing out copies of these books yelling, “READ THIS, MOFO’S!!!”It’s just that good.

So here it is, the final event: Rebel’s story. I am going to be 100% honest in that I didn’t think that she could pull this off. That Yarros’ was going to sell me short. Not because she isn’t a good enough writer, but seriously? What could she come up with that could be just as good, if not better, than Wilder and Nova?

Fucking, Cruz. Good Lord this man is so freaking swoon worthy. Instantly these two had hot lava level chemistry. We’re talking about Rebel here, so she’s not going to waste the reputation that she painstakingly built to blow it on some fuck-boy. And did she ever met her match with Cruz.

Rebel is lost and trying to find herself. She feels like she has lost her edge, so she decides to take matters into her own hands by throwing a stunt without Landon and Pax. Problem is, she needs a partner, preferably one just as skilled as her. Enter Cruz. I loved this meet cute!

They always say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, but as Penna left Vegas and returned to the Athena, she swore that was the last time she would see him. Apparently fate had something else in mind because all the students are a buzz about the new teacher, Dr. Delicious.

Cruz and Penna find themselves in a precarious situation. Both would lose a lot if they were discovered to be in this forbidden relationship, Cruz especially. There’s more than just his job. Being on the Athena is vital in order for his plan to work.

Cruz and Penna have a lot of similar defining characteristics. They have high goals in life and are extremely determined to meet them no matter what is in their way. I love how they are both very controlled, level headed individuals except for one thing: one another. They both leave sensibility in the wake of their affair and it is freaking delicious!!!

This book is a turn on. Point. Blank. It’s going to get your mojo going. I asked one of my co-bloggers if they think reading a book could bring them to orgasm, and if one could, I think that this might be it. It’s just so damn sexy and sultry and full of on the brink adventure! It’s brimming with side plots and how Yarros brings it all together is just perfection.

I just can’t come to the reality that this is over!!! I love this group so much. You guys won’t be disappointed with Rebel, especially that fantastic epilogue!!! Ugh, I’m just going to go re-read the entire series again!

“Oh God, don’t do that.”

“Do what?”

That.” He pointed toward my mouth. “Everything I told you in Vegas is still true. You’re still gorgeous, still sexy as hell, still everything that draws me in like a damned magnet, but you’re also everything I can’t have. Don’t you get that? When you pull shit like that on the dance floor, you successfully drive me batshit crazy, watching you in some guy’s arms.” A small laugh escaped him. “Like that kid has any idea what to do with you if he actually managed to catch you.”

“And you do?”

His eyes darkened. “Don’t challenge me like that.”

The tension stretched between us for a quiet moment until I broke the silence. “I didn’t kiss him.”

“I’m well aware, because if you had, I’m not sure if I could have let him walk out of here, and that’s dangerous, Penelope. You are dangerous to me.”

“I’m sorry,” I said truthfully. “Logically, I know nothing can happen between us. I get it. But I see you, and all I can think about is the way you kissed me in Vegas. The way you touched me. I can’t just erase those memories, Cruz. Like I said, somehow you make me do stupid things.”

“You? I make you do stupid things?” he nearly yelled, and I was thankful for the loud, driving beat of the music beyond the office doors. “Woman, I got into a strange car for you. Illegally BASE jumped off a Ferris wheel to stay close to you. Went to jail for you, and I make you do stupid things?”

He stalked forward, his movements smooth like a predator, and a low hum filled my stomach, growing stronger with every step he took.

“I let you stay in my class. Stupid. I look for every reason to run into you, while simultaneously praying you’ll stay far away because I need this job. Stupid. I take one look at you in that fucking dress, and I’m so hard I’m afraid I can’t hide it in a room full of students. Stupid. I can’t stop thinking about the way you taste, the way you open up under me, the way your nails left little half-moons in my shoulders when I found how wet you were for me.”

If he got his hands anywhere near me, he’d find out I was just as wet now. God, his words were the biggest turn-on I’d ever experienced. Next to his abs. Or his arms. Or his mouth. Crap, the man was one giant sex package begging to be unwrapped.

“Cruz,” I whispered as he cupped my face with one hand, his thumb rubbing over my lower lip, while he caged me against the desk with the other.

My tongue licked across the tip of his finger, unable to help myself.

“God, Penelope. You could cost me everything, and yet I’m still in here with you. And this might be the worst choice of all.”

His mouth met mine in a kiss that sent my senses reeling. His tongue swept in, claiming every curve he might have missed last time, until it felt like my mouth belonged to him.

I have more tattoos than scars.

And I’ve never seen a stunt I couldn’t pull off—

Or a girl I can’t get off.

Until she walks in.

My new tutor is sexy, smart, more stubborn than I am, and one hundred percent off limits.

That’s right—the only rule this semester is Don’t Touch the Tutor.

For the first time in my life, I want someone I can’t have.

She’s the girl who obeys every rule.

I’m the guy who breaks them.

Our biggest risk is falling for each other,

But I live for risk…

He’s Landon Rhodes.

The Renegade they call Nova.

Sinfully gorgeous, broody, tatted-up, professional snowboarder.

They say a girl broke him once—

That’s why he’s so reckless, so driven, so careless with his conquests.

But I’m that girl.

They can call me his curse all they want.

He and I both know the truth—

He’s the one who destroyed me,

And I’m not the sucker who will let that happen again.
