Good things come in extra-tall, smoking hot stilettos.

Things like Jocelyn Jones.

Jocelyn “Ice Queen” Jones is the hottest agent in town, and I’m determined to make her mine. My agent, that is. She’s the best at what she does, which is why I’m intent on keeping our relationship strictly platonic, even if the sexual tension between us is thick enough to slice with a skate. After all, I already have a woman in my life. My daughter, Charli, and we’re not sure if there’s room for someone else.
Until Jocelyn Jones breaks all the rules. She lets her icy exterior begin to melt, treating me to a view no man has ever seen before. Suddenly, I’m no longer certain if I want to be on her roster, or in her bed—for good.
Tangling business with pleasure has never been on the agenda. Then again, neither has falling in love.
They say it’s bad business to sleep with the boss.
But they haven’t met Jocelyn Jones.

REVIEW

I was super excited to read the next installment of this series because I absolutely fell in love with Lily’s debut novel Delivery Girl! It was incredibly cute and well written. Imagine my surprise when I find out that the next in the series was going to be Jocelyn Jone’s book, AKA “The Ice Queen” or “The Blonde Bitch”.

You may say that Jocelyn has a reputation. She knows what she wants, and she goes after it. What she wants right now is Landon Boxer on her roster. With his agent soon retiring, she wants to scoop him up and cash in on all the endorsement deals that she already has lined up for him.

But when she meets with Boxer, he has a proposal. He wants to be FRIENDS first….. Jocelyn doesn’t have friends, unless you count her assistant Lindsay. To add a little more complication, Boxer is a father of an adorable 6 year old daughter, Charli.

Quickly, Jocelyn finds her normal routine turned upside down. She’s spending more time with Boxer and Charli and less time answering e-mails are returning phone calls. It’s refreshing…and scary for her. She’s spent most of her life protecting herself from close relationships, but Boxer and Charli worm their way into her heart and there was no turning back.

#1- I LOVE when a child brings a couple together. Charli has an adorable role in this story. She’s smart and sassy and knows how to play her cards. I love watching Jocelyn fall in love with Charli and discovering her maternal side.

#2- Boxer. In a word: GENTLEMAN. This man is a gentleman. In the world of romance, we need more gentlemen between the brooding alpha males. I love how he wants to court Jocelyn to ensure that they are a good fit, not just as a couple, but potentially a family. SUPER SWEET!

#3-The element of suspense. I love suspense, and although this isn’t a murder, or a crime, there is definitely a element of suspense. I felt that this really picked up the pace and added more depth to the plot. I wish that it was more than the last 15%, but I really enjoyed trying to figure out what the characters were going to do.

There were just a few things missing from this that I was expecting after reading Delivery Girl. I love side characters, especially the Best Friend. Although Jocelyn’s assistant Lindsay played a big part in her day to day, she still called her “Boss”. I just didn’t feel connected to these two. I would’ve loved to see more between Boxer and his brother as well.

The reason I love to read sports romance is because OF THE SPORTS! There was very little in here and I was disappointed. I wanted to know more of why Boxer loved hockey, and to have more exposure to that part of his life, especially the teammates. At this point, I have no idea who the next book could be about, which just seems odd.

One thing that I really liked about this book, is that it’s low on the juvenile bull shit drama. When shit hits the fan, Jocelyn and Boxer keep their cool and trust in one another. I loved this. Although I love the drama, it wouldn’t have fit here. I’m glad that Lily went this direction.

Overall, a great continuation of a cute and fun series. I will definitely be looking forward to the next installment!
