It starts with a stolen kiss under an English sky, and it ends with a walk down the aisle. It starts with the President sending his best friend to woo me on his behalf, and it ends with my heart split in two. It starts with buried secrets and dangerous desires…and ends with the three of us bound together with a hateful love sharper than any barbed wire.
My name is Greer Galloway, and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.
This is the story of an American Queen.

5++ Stars of Gorgeous Filthy Decadence

I HAVE NO WORDS. I don’t even know what the hell to say right now other than THIS BOOK!! This beautiful, gorgeous, erotic, dirty, haunting and fascinating book!! It grabbed me by the privates and wouldn’t let go. It was everything I crave in an erotic BDSM-ish book and so very rarely find. It was gorgeously written smut, catnip to my senses. I wanted to roll around in its pages. I wanted to have babies with it while reading it. It was exactly the kind of thing that gets my juices flowing. Not just kink… beautifully written, raw, visceral kink. I was sold from the get go.

I’m going to say it now, I’m in love with Sierra Simone’s writing. I’ve heard she used to be a librarian and I’d probably be able to tell even if I hadn’t known beforehand. Not only is she well read, she is obviously in love with books and literature as a subject matter. This is a sort of retelling of Arthurian Legend imagined in a modern setting, told through an erotic lens. There was something about it that reminded me of the Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz as well, and specifically the dynamic between Soren, Nora and Kingsley.

The descriptions were so detailed and yet so poignant, from the way a body felt to the way the clothing fit a character, everything about it was thrilling to the bone.

The cover of this book had me fooled for the longest time. It looked so tame. I had a completely different idea about the subject matter and didn’t even begin to suspect the level of eroticism this contains. I don’t know what I thought it was going to be… something like Princess Diaries? That should teach me to be more careful about judging a book by its cover.

In reality this is a story about a love triangle of sorts, although this is much MUCH more than that. I would consider this more along the lines of a true ménage (my kryptonite, so very rarely well done). And the participants are a former Vice President’s granddaughter, the President of the United States and the Vice President. The King, the little princess and little prince. So so so good.

There is great care in how things unfold. Sierra Simone weaves the tale carefully, heightening the eroticism until you’re bursting at the seams. This is the way you do erotica. This is the difference between porn and something higher, more elevated and literary. The setting is so unique and downright wicked I devoured this book and I was left panting for more.

I’m going to have to issue a warning and say that this book isn’t for everyone. If you want a safe romance with strict monogamy and zero kink and a simple love triangle look elsewhere. In that respect this breaks the rules and walks all over them and you know what, I freaking love it. I love the raunchy, poetic, erotic, BADNESS of it all. Books like American Queen are the reason I read.

To say that I’m waiting on bated breath for American Prince would be an understatement. I’d kill for that book (forgive the hyperbole) but, gosh goodness, I need it NOW. And I’m going to have to read more Sierra Simone in the meantime just to soothe this massive craving.

It’s been 24 hours and I’m still thinking about the second to last chapter. I wanted to lick my screen. American Prince, book 2 in this extremely intoxicating trilogy, cannot get here soon enough. I’m dying to read the continuation to such a fantastic story!

5++ stars and a new ultra favorite.
