CHARMED FOR LIFE?
Thanos Agapiou has always been a charmer. For over two millennia, the vampire had no problem acquiring whom and what he wanted with a flash of his handsome smile. He took for granted the boyish good looks he presumed he’d possess for the rest of eternity.
How very wrong he was.
A nearly fatal attack distorted his entire existence. With his appearance now matching the title many have bestowed their kind—monster—he hides away from the world and all of those who know him, including his Ancient, Eton. Until one night when a stranger draws him out from the shadows.
OR CURSED FOR ETERNITY?
Ever since Paris Antoniou was thrust into a world of vampires, his reality has become stranger than the history and the myths he’s studied for the past decade.
When he learns the truth about his origins and the power he wields, his confusion and fear have him running for his life. What he doesn’t expect is to run into the arms of Thanos—a vampire who doesn’t intimidate him as much as he intrigues him.
WHAT HAS THE POWER TO MAKE YOU WANT TO SURVIVE?
As their worlds collide under extraordinary circumstances, an attraction neither can deny takes hold. But will that be enough to save Thanos from his demons, or will he condemn Paris to his fate?
Destinies have been changed. Lines have been crossed. And, with tales of the vampire race coming to an end, who will make the ultimate sacrifice? After all, in a world run by vampires and gods, only one can be the true Master among the Monsters.
What did I just read?! An effing masterpiece of a series is what I just read. If you follow us and our blog, the sisters and I have varying tastes in genres. If you follow us and read our reviews you’ll have figured out that I LOVE me some paranormal. If it has vampires, werewolves, witches and wizards, I’m in. I’ll read just about anything but paranormal is the bees knees for this girl. There’s something about the darkness of it all that has my insides twisting and craving more. It also makes me want to live inside the authors mind, even if it’s only for 5 minutes. Speaking of authors, Ella Frank can literally do no wrong for me, especially in the M/M department. I know it isn’t on everyone’s radar and I honestly didn’t think it was either but holy effing balls this woman does not mess around when outlining THOSE scenes.
When I was presented with an opportunity for an ARC of Alasdair, I dove head first at that chance. I said yes without hesitation because it’s Ella Frank AND it was about a vampire. Ummmm, YES, PLEASE. I’m sure my blogging partners were getting sick of me squealing about how excited I was over this book. They listened though and let me jump for joy with every turn of the page. Alasdair had me from the minute I opened the book. Isadora’s story was up next and she popped my F/F cherry. Again, I know this isn’t a genre for everyone but if you’re willing to take a shot at it I highly suggest that you do. The way Ella intertwines her characters here is done with such ease and precision that I had no issues with the POV change. I’ve read others in the third person where I had to go back a few pages to see which characters head I was in but with Ella, it was perfect and fluid. I fell for Isadora just as hard as I did for Alasdair.
Thanos. Dark, brooding and the mysterious Thanos. If I could, I’d want to come back as a vampire in my next life. That’s how much I was drawn to these books and drawn to their lives. Our society, as accepting as we are of the LGBT community, would no way accept these books should they come to life on the big screen but if they ever did, I’ll be front row center with a big ass bowl of popcorn and towels for drool. Thanos is the final chapter, so to speak, of the series and it was all perfect. The execution with Alasdair, the leaving you with wanting more with Isadora to the perfect ending with Thanos. Ella’s storytelling here is seriously one of the best. She tells a fantastic, historic tale of these mysterious, controlling vampires and then, the cherry on top is her addition of Greek mythology. Which, oh my God, don’t get me started. I LOVE Greek and Egyptian mythology. That’s all I will say on that, just read these. If you’re reading this and this genre was never your thing but your wheels are kinda spinning in that direction, do it. If you haven’t read these and this genre is your thing, do it. You will NOT be sorry. I promise.
