I gotta be honest, of the all the Love on the Edge series couples, Dash and Blake left me wanting more than what was given to me. So I was really excited to hear that their story was going to continue in Lee’s latest, Edge of Bliss.
We are reunited with not only Dash and Blake, but John and Paul as well. This time the gang is working with a network for a new TV show about storm chasers. Dash is feeling the pressure not only from the producer to get the best footage, but his need to protect Blake while out chasing down tornados.
Blake and Dash’s relationship has grown tremendously over the last year and although Blake sees how much Dash cherishes her, she is still adjusting to what it’s like to be in a healthy relationship. With her first relationship Blake was never able to entertain the idea of a happily ever after, marriage or even children.
After falling for Dash, and him showing me what real love was, I’d slowly warmed up to those ideas. With him, nothing seemed impossible anymore.
As the chase was on, Dash and Blake both kept running into their pasts, disrupting Dash’s plans for a proposal. When Justin reappears in Blake’s life, it sends her into a tailspin. She was reverting back into the insecure woman she was with Justin and not the new bold woman Dash helped her unveil. When Dash and Blake hit a wall it was up to Blake to finally overcome her own demons.
I was such an idiot- thinking the woman I used to be was still affecting who I was today. Her dreams were no longer mine. I was a different person. And I knew what I wanted now.
Edge of Bliss definitely satisfied my appetite for a solid conclusion for Dash and Blake. Although I enjoyed Edge of Chaos I was very frustrated with Blake’s unhealthy relationship with her ex. Although that reappears, it allows Blake to finally move on from the darkness of her and Justin’s relationship and into the light that her and Dash created.
Edge of Bliss also satisfied my hunger for the action that I saw in East of Redemption and Depths of Salvation. I’m quite impressed with Lee’s debut series. The Love on the Edge series is so diverse it will satisfy any reader’s taste. I’m hoping to see more from this series in the future!
