Tough, dry-witted, and intelligent, Ming has worked her whole life to be a successful lawyer, great friend, and dutiful daughter. Her focus has been on her career, but now she's thirty-five, and the last of her friends to be single. Ming knows what she needs... A man who communicates, who won't be intimidated by her position, a partner. She knows this, but all she wants is him...
After working side by side with his brother, Brock for years, Brady has followed his dream and become a police officer. Protecting and serving comes naturally to him, it's what he was born to do, which is why he doesn't know what to do with a woman who doesn't need his strength and protection.
For 7 Months, Ming has accepted what Brady had to offer, secret nights of passion with no hope of a relationship,. But feelings have developed, and now she wants more. When Brady doesn't want things to change, Ming has to decide if being with the man she loves is worth sacrificing everything she wants.
7 Months was a super light, fun, read and just what I needed after finishing a very heavy subject book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I will definitely check out more books by this author.
Ming and Brady have been sleeping together for 7 months very casually and in secret. Brady is a policeman and Ming is a lawyer and they have lots of friends in common. Ming’s best friend is married to Brady’s brother. Brady is very introverted, he was deeply affected by his parents’ death at a young age and he thinks he’s not cut out for relationships. Ming is head over heels for Brady and she’s feeling the pressures of being in a serious relationship and settling down. She’s a career driven woman and a successful attorney. When Ming tells Brady to get serious or get out, Brady must make a decision about their future or risk losing Ming forever.
I really loved both characters, especially Ming. She’s super strong and not afraid to go for what she wants. Brady definitely grows on you, once you understand his backstory and what he’s thinking, you’ll grow to like him. I love the relationship between Brady and his brothers and Ming and her friends. They’re a tight bunch that love each other deeply. I loved that the story flows really well, and rather fast and that there’s no unnecessary relationship drama. The relationship between Ming and Brady is strong, sweet and super hot!
This is book 7 in a series of standalone books. Every book is about a different couple. Now, I have to admit that I haven’t read all books in the series but I had no problem catching up with all the characters. But now I am super intrigued by some of their stories so I have added them to my TBR, especially since they are relatively short books.
Overall, I greatly enjoyed this story and I will absolutely recommend it if you’re looking for something short, sweet and light!
