Their chemistry on the field is undeniable. But can they ever be more than friends?
Jason Hawkins is about to throw the biggest Hail Mary pass of his career. If he can't turn NFL recruiters' heads this year, he'll lose his shot at the one thing he's ever been good at. But every quarterback needs a man he can count on down-field. For Jason, that man just might be the Tigers' new receiver, Derek Griffin.
Four years ago, Derek nearly lost everything after being outed by his teammates. Now he finally has a chance to get it all back as a walk-on for Eastshore College... if he can resist his immediate attraction to the gorgeous and very straight star quarterback.
An instant connection during practice leads to an easy friendship that only grows stronger off the field. Derek is convinced friendship is all it'll ever be, but a very confusing moment of impulse leaves both of them fumbling for answers about their relationship.
As curiosity gives way to passion and passion gives way to something deeper, Jason and Derek will have to tackle their own personal demons to bring home the win and earn their happy ending.
Strong Side is a steamy, standalone gay romance novel with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger.

The Author gave me an ARC of Strong Side and I want to say thank you, Alison! I don’t know if I would have found it if she hadn’t of messaged me. See I have been in a reading funk for the past few months and I have just started to come out of it, as in the last few days. Needless to say I devoured this book and it is helping bring back my mojo!

Jason “Hawk” Hawkins is a senior Quarterback for the Eastshore Tiger’s. This is his last year to make a difference before hopefully getting drafted into the NFL next year. All he has every been is be a football player. It’s all he knows and his dad is his #1 supporter. He worked 2 jobs and made alot of sacrifices, so Jason could be the best in the game. Jason is looking for his someone he can trust on the field and it just so happens that Derek Griffin, is the new Receiver on the team and may be the right person he’s looking for. Derek had a severe injury 4 years ago, that almost ruined his chances of ever playing football again. It has traumatized him, but he thought he was over it. During practice Hawk sees Griffin freeze up and he decides he’s going to work with Griffin to get him over his mental block on the field. This starts an amazing friendship.

Their friendship was 100% believable! It didn’t feel rushed or forced. Griffin is attracted to Hawk, but he knows Hawk is straight and nothing can ever become of his crush. Hawk on the other hand, has these moments where he’s completely confused because he feels strange around Griffin. This ladies and gents, is when we get to the good stuff *winky face* Friends to Lovers is one of my favorite tropes and it was done perfectly! It was completely believable and it felt natural. The transition was flawless!

Next things get reeeeeally steamy and I’m not spoiling it. You will need a fan to cool yourself off *wink* BUT not only is their chemistry amazing, they start to make each other see what they want out of life. Does Jason really want to play in the NHL? Can Jason help Derek figure out what he wants in his life? They start to look at the big picture and I loved reading about it.

Alison, did an amazing job with all of the football references! I mean, I have no idea if she is right because I don’t know really anything about football lol, but it seems like she knows her stuff! I was right on the field with the boys. She painted a beautiful picture that was completely believable. Maybe I even know a little more about football than I did before reading this, which says alot! If you are a huge football fan or you don’t know anything (like me) this book is for everyone. I loved the relationship everyone had on the team. They all supported each other and they were truly a brotherhood.

Another thing, I had a total fangirl moment! So, the boys go to an away game to Knoxville, TN to play the UT VOLS. I live 30 minutes from there! It’s my closest city, so I have to go there often. Anyways she talked about them flying into Mcghee Tyson Airport, and it just connected me more to the story. Something kinda big happens there and I was so happy it happend in Knoxville… which I’m sure is completely ridiculous, lol. But I loved that it was in there!

This book was awesome! Everything was believable and I loved how their family and friends supported them and loved them. This is #1 in the Eastshore Tigers series, but I  hope we get to see more of Jason and Derek! I’m not ready to say goodbye to them. My only complaint is that it wasn’t longer. I WANTED MORE!!! This is Alison’s first book and she has a touchdown with it! I can’t wait to read more of her books!
