With a famous NHL player for a step-brother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation many hockey stars come with. She’s smart enough to steer clear of those hot, well-built boys with unparalleled stamina. That is until she meets the legendary team captain—Alex Waters.

Violet isn’t interested in his pretty, beat-up face, or his rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s previous misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes more than just a hot body with a face to match.
In what can only be considered a complete lapse in judgment, Violet finds out just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. But what starts out as a one-night stand, quickly turns into something more. Post-night of orgasmic magic, Alex starts to call, and text, and e-mail and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts, making him difficult to ignore, and even more difficult not to like.
The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

You know, while reading this, I never thought I’d end up adding it to my Favorites shelf. Then I finished it and I realized I’d never read anything like it. And that I couldn’t put it down. And what it set to do, it did PHENOMENALLY.

Oh Helena Hunting, you crazy naughty girl you. I love you! Not as much as I love Alex Waters’ MONSTER…

But holy hell, was this book everything I needed. I was on withdrawals after so much hockey goodness from Elle Kennedy’s The Mistake and this hit the beave…I mean the spot. My beave…. errrrr, well, it got excited a bit. Not as excited mind you, as Violet’s:

But quite close.

If you’re wondering why this review has pictures of animals in it, of the farm and wild variety, and what the hell that has got to do with a romance, I really don’t know what to say, except.

Because I laughed so hard I nearly ruined my shiny new iPhone 6+ (yes I’m aware I keep mentioning it, ok? I have to, ’cause that’s were I’m reading my smutty stuff these days).

Anyway, expect a fun as fuck, crazy-ass, slightly ridiculous yet oh so piss your pants funny book about this crazy chick called Violet, the hot as HELL Canadian NHL player she falls for (who actually ends up being a total sweetheart). Lots of crazy sex, talking to genitals, beavers and cocks and a hirsute, yeti-like stepbrother that cracked me up so bad because when he went all protective of Violet all I thought was adorable idiot.

I completely loved this book, laughed, snorted, pointed at the screen and the ridiculousness on it, then laughed again. And you know, it was just the type of crazy fun I needed. When the freak is on, it’s on, with a sexy NHL boy… holy crap, I’m obsessed with hockey now…. THANKS ELLE AND HELENA.

Extra points for the groveling. I love groveling… this man knows how to grovel.

This is going on my favorites. It’s just that damn funny. Plus hockey… uggh… couldn’t be better if it tried.
